Polytetrafluoroethylene, also known as PTFE is categorized as a fluoropolymer. PTFE can withstand temperatures between -90°C to 260°C, making it an ideal insulation material for an extremely wide variety of applications. PTFE offers the advantages of insensibility to chemicals, weather resistance, non flammability in addition its zero moisture capture capabilities. PTFE insulated hook-up wire is commonly used in appliance and electronic applications and comes in two forms: extruded and foamed.
